Meet the Dentist

Richard R. Kneisley, DDS

Dr. Richard Kneisley received two degrees from Ohio State University: a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Cum Laude, and D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) with honors.  Certainly a Buckeye, he was raised in Dayton, Ohio. He has three brothers; the handsome one who practices family medicine in Springfield is his identical twin.  All of the Kneisley brothers graduated from Ohio State and had a run of 19 consecutive years with at least one or two of them attending OSU.  Dr. Kneisley’s father attended Ohio State in the 1930’s.

Dr. Kneisley is a member of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Columbus Dental Society, and Mensa.  He also participates in Dental Options, treating several indigent individuals each year at no charge.  He stays current with new dental techniques and materials through many hours of continuing education, way and beyond the 40 hour requirement of the State Dental Board every two years.  He also subscribes to and reads many dental journals. He is highly experienced in most fields of dentistry, and has been practicing in Hilliard since 1981.  Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Kneisley spent two years working in a small clinic in Appalachia.  So, all told, he has probably seen and treated almost every condition imaginable.  Experience isn’t everything, but it certainly is a big factor in quality dental care, as is staying current on new technology.  His goal as a dentist is to provide the highest quality care in a friendly and gentle manner.

Dr. Kneisley loves finding areas of common interests with his patients and talking about those interests during their visits. His love for dentistry, his patients, and his staff (all of whom have been working with him for at least 10 years) is evident the moment that you walk through the door. His practice in Hilliard is a “well-oiled machine” that works efficiently for the benefit and comfort of our patients.

Dr. Kneisley is married with two grown children.  His hobbies include cooking, reading, and traveling.  He is also an avid fly-fisherman and even ties his own fishing flies.  Skeet shooting is another of his favorite pastimes.
